ACTION Innovation Network Hosts Chilean University Visitors to Explore Business Opportunities for Tech Entrepreneurs

March 18, 2019

On March 18th, ACTION Innovation Network, North Shore InnoVentures, and Richi Foundation together welcomed a delegation from the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria (USM) in Valparaiso, Chile at CIC in Cambridge, MA, representing the 3IE International Institute for Business Innovation and the Office for Technology Transfer and Licensing. USM is the highest ranked Latin American university in engineering, science and technology (by Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities). The purpose of the visit was to understand the entrepreneurial and technology innovation ecosystems in the greater Boston region, learn best practices for supporting tech startups, and to establish a working program where Chilean entrepreneurs can take advantage of offerings for international tech startups from the three organizations in Boston.

ACTION, NSIV, and Richi Foundation provided a broad overview of the Boston/greater Boston innovation ecosystem, from high atop the CIC building and overlooking Kendall Square, and the advantages of building tech-focused companies here within a trusted partner network. The three organizations explained how they collaborate to offer various programs for international technology startups. Next steps will be to share best practices with USM for supporting entrepreneurs through incubation, and strengthening the Chilean innovation ecosystem within the University and with external stakeholders. We're open for business with Chile!
